How to Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication 

Overview 

To protect your account, multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required for all users. MFA adds an extra layer of security by verifying your identity when logging in. 

You can choose one of two MFA methods: 

• Email
• Authenticator Application

You'll be prompted to verify your identity: 

• Every30 days
• After updating your email address
• If a security issue is detected
  

 
Option 1: Email Authentication 

First time set up 

1. Log in to Lister
2. Select “Use Email”
   
3. Check your email inbox for a message from [email protected] verification code
4. Copy the verification code
5. Return to the login screen and enter the code into the verification field
   
   
6. Once entered,you’llbe loggedinand MFA will be enabled for your account

💡Tip: The verification code email should arrive within a few minutes. If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder.  

Future Logins 

1. Log in to Lister
2. When MFA is triggered, a verification code email is automatically sent to you
3. Check your inbox for the code from Upright Labs
4. Enter the code into the verification field on the login screen
5. Once entered,you'llbe logged in
   

 
Option 2: Authenticator Application 

First time set up 

1. Log in to Lister
2. Select “Use Authenticator App”
   
3. A QR code will appear on your screen:
   
4. Open your authenticator app and choose Scan a QR code
5. Point your phone's camera at the QR code to link your account
6. Enter the 6-digit code displayed in your authenticator app into the verification field
7. Once entered,you'llbe loggedinand MFA will be enabled

Name Your MFA Entry 

If you are using a shared phone (e.g., the Ecom phones), where there may be multiple users, adding a name after you register your account through the authenticator app will help you find your information and code more quickly. 

To name your MFA entry: 

1. Open MS Authenticator on the cell phone

2. Findand Tap onthe Lister account in the list

3. Tap on the Gear in the top right corner of the screen

4. Tap on the default name in the top right corner of the screen

5. A window will pop up, type in“Lister – [lister username]”(e.g., Lister –aferguson)to be easily able toidentifyeach specific user in the authentication app, andtapDone.

Future Logins 

1. Log in to Lister
2. When MFA is triggered, open your authenticator app
3. Retrieve the current 6-digit verification code for Lister
4. Enter the code into the verification field on the login screen
5. Once entered,you’llbe logged in

💡 Tip: Codes refresh every 30 seconds, so be sure to use the most recent one.
