The first day of a new job is scary. Your new employee is nervous and doesn’t know what to expect. Most of the time, they won’t know anyone they are working with and will have concerns about “fitting in”. First impressions are important and how you make a new employee feel on their first day can make a big difference. New employees are often “on the fence” about whether they plan to make Goodwill a long-term employment choice. How they are treated from the moment they enter our door could push them one way or the other. Let’s do everything we can to pull them to our side. That starts with the interview and carries on to their first day.
